New reports of a repeat offender who is dismembering men has struck again. This doesn’t phase Violet, a young legal assistant who is struggling to cope with her failing relationships. Her boyfriend Tom is cheating on her with her own sister, Sophie, who has come to visit her in New York. Sophie reveals to Violet that Tom tried to kiss her last Christmas. Feeling betrayed and lost, realizing she is pregnant, Violet is unable to cope with the weight of motherhood on top of her other problems and decides to have an abortion. Her only solace from the chaos is swimming laps in the pool at the sports club where she holds her breath underwater until she bursts. Her and Sophie are able to connect as well and have fun together.
The weight of the world causes Violet to create another identity, Alex: The Woman in White, to help her navigate her troubles. She starts meeting womanizing men at bars, lures them home, sometimes sleeping with them, forcing them to admit what they’ve done before removing their penis with her mouth. Alex manipulates and lies to others, including Theo, Violet's boss, whom she has an affair with, and Julie, Theo's pregnant wife. Alex befriends Julie and steals her secrets to manipulate them both, leaving her underwear in their apartment to sabotage their relationship. At a party in Violet's apartment with Tom and Sophie's friends, Alex breaks a glass in a threatening way, adding to the tension between the three of them. She begins to get closer to Sophie, trying to recruit her for her vigilante acts of violence against men.
As Alex's actions spiral out of control, Violet must confront the true nature of her relationships and the toll that Alex is taking on her life. Theo fires her from the law first after she crosses the line in the office. She spins out and terrorizes Julie because of this. Meanwhile, Tom is planning a visit to his mother to find direction in his life, but he never makes it there in time. As tensions between the sisters and Tom reach a boiling point, Alex becomes increasingly violent and threatens the safety of everyone around her. She convinces Sophie to take revenge on Tom, and they both violently murder him together.
In the end, as Sophie heads back to Los Angeles, Violet is forced to confront her own demons and the duality of her nature. As she navigates the blurred lines between love, loyalty, and betrayal, she discovers that sometimes the only way to move forward is to let go of the past and embrace the present.

Violet - teaser
We chose to show Violet wearing a crown of flowers to represent the self love that she lacks completely. The love that she is losing each day but refusing to acknowledge.
In 2012 this project began with a short script called ‘The Lovers’ - a whimsical, voice over driven piece about a woman in an abusive relationship who is experimenting with her sexuality.
The script was shot in Paris and Barcelona and won Best Short Film at The London Film Awards. We named it Pale to illustrate the lifeless quality a failing relationship may embody.
Here’s the short to give you an idea of where this project came from and where it has gone.
