LOGLINE: a mother in recovery, denied custody of her daughter, becomes the subject of a cloning experiment in an attempt to replace.
SYNOPSIS: India, a down on her luck musician struggling with substance use disorder, and her boyfriend Trado are spiraling out of control while their daughter Nico in caught in the middle of it. When they resort to violence against each other for prescription drugs their neighbor Rica calls child protective services and they take Nico away.
One year later India has sobered up and is denied custody of Nico. Trado and Rica team up and turn against India. India meets Rupi, a medical researcher and creates a clone of Nico.
Scandal ensues after the media gets wind of the clone experiment, uncovers India’s past and uses it against her. Rica leads a group of activists to protest against the pregnancy.
Then Trado and Rica kidnap India and steal the clone baby just as the media reveals the whereabouts of Nico. India plans to reconvene with her, but in the end realizes she is still an unfit mother and sacrifices her relationship with her for the well being of the new life she now has. with her adopted parents.
